Common Brazilian DrumThe pandeiro is a common hand drum found in Brazil. It is almost universally used to play a rhythm known as Samba, which has many styles dirived from it, including Bossa Nova. Most everyone in Brazil knows someone who can play the pandeiro.The pandeiro consists of a round frame with a skin on one side, with usually 5-7 pairs of jingles, also known as zils or platinelas. |
